Established in 1670, Charleston, The Holy City

Established in 1670, Charleston has long been considered an annual Top Ten North American Destination for an international smorgasbord of reasons. Despite floods, hurricanes, epidemics and many battles Charleston's historic district remains fundamentally the same. With 600+ antebellum homes, businesses, museums, and churches built before the 1840’s there is much to see and do. Spend a day, several days, or a leisurely week touring on foot, by horse drawn carriage, or trolley the many gardens, plantations, historic sites, lighthouses, museums and other Charleston attractions and amusements.

…Dear Ronald and Lynne…Thank you for the prompt return of my deposit, and your letter. I am ready to send the check back to you as a deposit on another property this fall when Savannah has cooled down and is perfect for exploring on foot. Looking now at the map of the historic district, what were once unknown streets are now old familiar friends…Aubrey could not have been more helpful or more patient. The weekend I was making reservations for the two of us, but Sven was six hours ahead in Scandinavia, so consulting him was difficult. I believe I changed the days we planned to stay three times in the initial weekend Aubrey was helping me- and he remained nonplussed through all the goings back and forth. I appreciated the timeliness of all the emails, and felt very comfortable with Savannah Getaways (from the initial contact with Aubrey, through the Fed Ex fiasco trying to send the final payment.)…Thank you again for all your help and availability- living in Orlando, I am very accustomed to advising travelers heading here with insider information. Being on the information seeking side for a change was made much easier thanks to you all…Warm regards…
