Paula Deen & Friends take the stage in Savannah for a great cause

PauladeensafeOn September 21st, 2008 the famed Lucas Theatre will host A Red Hot Evening with Paula Deen & Friends, an evening of food, fun, laughter and music.

Paula will appear as well as Kim Polote, winner of the 2001 Oxnard Medal in the American Traditions vocal competition. Sonny Dixon will emcee.

There will be a reception at 6 p.m. at the Morris Center at Trustees Garden that will feature cocktails and food from Lady & Sons. At 7:30 p.m. the doors to the Lucas Theatre will open. All ticket holders will be entered to win raffle prizes including jewelry, original artworks and travel packages.

Tickets are $150 and can be purchased through the SCAD box office. All proceeds will benefit the Savannah Area Family Emergency Center.


Haunted Oatland Island Ghost Tour

Tour a nearly 100-year-old haunted hospital on an isolated island for a spooky tour August 23rd from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. EMF meters and flashlights provided. You will search 50,000 square feet in one of the most haunted cities in the world. The forest is so quiet that when the owls hoot and the wolves howl you’ll want to run back to your car!

So, if you’re up for the challenge join Shannon Scott of Scariest Places on Earth and his investigation team for a unique tour that will keep you on your toes.

Tickets are $36.50 per adult (ages 13 & up) with 20% of the profit going to The Oatland Island Wildlife Center. Event will take place Rain or Shine. Commemorative souvenir included. Plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to the tour. Free parking available.
