With Father’s Day this weekend, why not make it all about Dad? Maybe grab the clubs and hit the links at any of Savannah’s golf courses – or make it a day and head over to Hilton Head, where they’re known for their prestigious courses. Sea Pines offers three world-class courses that are a favorite of the some of the PGA Tour Pros. Take the day and make a trip down to St. Augustine and tour the World Golf Hall of Fame where you can take advantage of free admission for the day and challenge each other to a free round on the putting course.
If golf isn’t your Dad’s thing, then get down and dirty this Saturday at the annual JCB Mud Run. Put yourself to the ultimate physical challenge of mud, dirt and water in this 4.3 mile course where you’ll encounter water gauntlets, logs, a plunge, bear crawls and more! Proceeds from this event benefit the Lady Bamford Center for Early Childhood Development helping working mothers and minority families in the Savannah community. Hang around for the after-party food, drinks and live music from The Trainwrecks!
Does Dad fancy himself a foodie? You know – the neighborhood Grill Master and King of his Kitchen? Then help him hone his skills further and sign him up for the only hands-on cooking school in Savannah; 700 Kitchen Cooking School at the Mansion on Forsyth Park. Executive Director, Chef Darin Sehnert, leads the class from start to finish while you help to prepare an entire meal. Along the way, the Chef will cover knife skills, kitchen tips and tricks and at the end of class you’ll get to enjoy a delicious meal that you helped make!
No matter what you decide to do this weekend, enjoy the time you have with your Dad and remember to take a moment to tell him much he means to you.
